Jan Johansen lives in Minnesota and fell in love with Montana and the western art scene many years ago. She found her passion for art in the mid 60’s, eventually earning a masters in art education. Her paintings are about what interests her. After many years of painting, each piece is a new beginning - a new subject or feel for the subject. A different day. A different mood. A new challenge.
Jan was selected to decorate a buffalo for a community project in West Yellowstone. Her theme is the history of camping in Yellowstone. Selected shows of Jan’s include American Artists Professional League, Oil Painters of America, International Society of Pastel Artists and CM Russell Art Auction.
